Senior Backend Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who wants to own systems end-to-end, not just close tickets. You'll work across diverse projects — from fintech platforms to AI-powered SaaS — and help shape how we build software as a team.

This isn't a role where you'll sit in meetings all day. You'll write code, design systems, and ship things that matter.

What you'll do

  • Own backend services end-to-end — from architecture through deployment to production support
  • Build and evolve REST APIs and microservice architectures for clients and internal products
  • Collaborate with founders and product teams to turn business problems into technical solutions
  • Contribute to system design decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices
  • Investigate and resolve production issues with a reliability-first mindset

What we look for

  • 5+ years of professional backend development experience
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js (NestJS, Express, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of backend architecture: services, APIs, queues, caching, async workflows
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and SQL
  • Real production experience: debugging, incident response, performance optimization
  • Ability to reason about trade-offs and make pragmatic technical decisions
  • Strong communication skills and comfort with async, remote collaboration
  • English level B2+, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • Experience with AWS and containerization (Docker)
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Exposure to AI/LLM integration or AI development tools (Copilot, Claude Code)
