AI Engineer

We're looking for an AI Engineer who builds production AI systems, not just prototypes. You'll design and ship AI-powered features, agents, and integrations across our client products and internal ventures — making AI work reliably inside real applications.

This isn't a research role. You'll build, ship, and own AI systems in production.

What you'll do

  • Architect and build AI-powered features and multi-agent systems for client and internal products
  • Integrate LLMs into production applications — handling orchestration, evaluation, and reliability
  • Build backend APIs and services around AI functionality (REST, MCP)
  • Design infrastructure around AI systems: monitoring, tracing, logging, prompt management
  • Solve complex accuracy and reliability challenges through iteration and proper evaluation
  • Explore and experiment with new models, providers, and patterns to keep our stack current

What we look for

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience building production AI features that are reliable and solve real user problems
  • Familiarity with RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases
  • Experience with AI evaluation and testing frameworks — you know how to measure if your system actually works
  • Practical prompt engineering skills and experience managing prompts at scale
  • Strong product engineering fundamentals with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Familiarity with multiple AI providers and models (Anthropic, OpenAI), understanding tradeoffs
  • Pragmatism and ability to balance speed and quality
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working async
  • English level B2+, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • Experience with fine-tuning or training models
  • Knowledge of AI security — prompt injection, guardrails, safe output handling

Not a good fit if you're

  • More of an AI end user than a builder of production-ready systems
  • A researcher, ML engineer, or data scientist looking for a research-focused role
  • Limiting yourself to prompt engineering only

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation — paid reliably and on time, always
  • Remote-first — work from anywhere in CET-aligned time zones
  • Real ownership — shape AI strategy, not just implement prompts
  • Small team, big impact — your work matters here
  • Equipment support to set up your workspace
  • No algorithm puzzles in interviews — we focus on real engineering

What happens next

01
Intro call — 30 minutes

With a founder, not a recruiter. Your background, our work, and mutual honesty about fit.

02
Technical deep-dive — ~75 minutes

A real engineering conversation about systems you've built and problems we actually have. No algorithm puzzles.

03
Practical session

A short, scoped exercise grounded in our real work — walked through together, never a take-home marathon.

04
Offer

Direct and in writing: compensation, expectations, start date. Then we build.

Apply for this role

Link to something you've built and a few honest lines on why this role. No cover-letter theater.

Simplicity over complexity. Outcomes over elegance. Real problems, real solutions.

No ATS black hole. A founder reads every application — you get an answer either way.

We're builders. We build for clients, we build with partners, and we build for ourselves. Our team brings over a decade of engineering experience across HR tech, hospitality, sports, fintech, and SaaS — building everything from distributed crawlers to microservice architectures to AI-backed platforms.
